Shit... any details on how he lost control? What was he doing driving the car if he was supposed to be doing body work? Delivering it or dogging it?

I work for GEICO. If it's consentual use of the car I'm pretty sure the owner's insurance still applies. Meaning if I let you borrow my car and you total it it goes on my insurance. Now if it's un-authorized use then I dunno. I can't help you much b/c I do the estimates and such and am not fully familiar w/ the laws. I'm sure you could call your insurance Co. and talk to a rep about it to get the right answers. I guess you'll have to talk to the driver's family to get his insurance info.
