go to about the 6th post down, theres a part about the IACV 3 wire to 2 wire conversion, also stated in other articles recommends you remove the oil control jet from the block for proper vtec activation
and about your solenoid, heres a decent article to read, its for a z6 but vtec wiring should be the same concept noted here
