Default Re: GSXR or R6

GSXR hands down. The Yamaha's feel more like they were meant for very seasoned riders. dont get me wrong, nice bikes, but the gsxr has always recieved such phenominal reviews. I'd personally suggest a 1998 SRAD gixxer. The R6 has been known to feel a bit smaller and thus, nimbler, but at the same time the forgiving nature of the gixxer line make them a favorite among both racers, stunters, and canyon riders. The Gixxer will more than likely be the best bang for the buck and with their popularity, if you can manage to find a cheap one, if you do find yourself unhappy with it, turning around and selling it to purchase a R6 will be more than easy. Ive also heard alot of people complain about the yamaha transmissions, though I realize 2nd gear is a problem for all sportbikes at some point during their life simply because they recieve the most wear from racing and such, the yamaha seems to stick out a bit more in this particular problem. Good points for the Yamaha- killer styling, very nimble, decent power, and a bit more "professional" feel while riding. Good points for the GSXR- forgiving handling, class leading performance all around, COMFORTABLE, good resale value, and from what ive heard, respond retardedly well to modification. Cons of the yamaha- Need to be a bit more experienced to really appreciate the bike and throw it around, The tranny problem (for some), not the most comfortable egronomics, no reserve tank (a feature I like). Cons for the Suzuki- could be a bit more powerful, and wel.... um nothing I dont think. Hope this helps.
