Re: May 2nd @ Pungo
Hey everyone, it's Aaron (blue SRT-4). I drove too deep in there, went into the brakes and could not steer out of there due to the speed. I felt that I was hitting the brakes just before or right at the timing lights on the 2nd and 3rd runs. I stood out there watching most of the guys in the 1st heat hitting the brakes about two sections before the cones and took that as a starting point to be able to go a little deeper than they were. I carried too much speed for the point I had chosen in the third run. I didn't lift off the brakes at all before hitting the dirt. Too much speed for those skinny ass tires, my experience (or lack of) with the car, AND the track setup all factored into the accident. I take responsibility for my mistakes, learn from them, and will be back out there racing with the car once I get the parts in and things fixed. Just as some of you have said, when racing you take chances. If you can't afford to make mistakes you shouldn't be racing. I made a mistake, but luckily it will only cost me some $$$ and time, not anyones health (well, my mental health for a few days, but thats it).
