Holding the individual person liable would be possible if you had written up some sort of bill of sale for the trade/transaction. BUT i`de bet a weeks pay you never even considered that before jumping into this....So ya. You`re boned, havn`t a leg to stand on legally and would be better off eating the cost of repairs than even attempting anything legal.
