Since I know how K&K's insurance works, I'll chime in. Basically you can't get insurance for one event. Well you can, but it costs the same as getting insurance for about 6-7 events. I don't know what the costs are at this time. But expect it to be more than $2k.

There is discussion on that national autox list (team.net) that many local clubs like TSCC are not being allowed to get insurance renewal this year. I have not heard, but I will not be surprised if TSCC runs into this wall this year as well.

I just don't see being able to pull of the first event unless it is co-sanctioned with another club, unless there is a large inflow of capital. That being said, several years ago it was one of TSCC's mission statements to do all they could to help out other clubs get off the ground. It was their policy to co-sanction, loan/rent equipment as necessary, etc in an effor to get other clubs active. It was not too long ago that TSCC and VMSC were the only clubs around putting on events.
