Thanks for all the info guys! I just bought a BELL SportII from OGracing. Their website said 259 but that was for the SA95 helmets. The SA2000 helmets went up in price to a little over 300, but the guy gave me a free helmet bag so it isn't so bad.

This is from soloracer.com :
"HELMET RATINGS

SA Rated Helmets
Snell rated "SA" (Sports Application) professional helmets provide extreme impact resistance and higher fire protection.

M Rated Helmets
Snell "M" (Motorcycle) rated helmets offer slightly less protection.

For SCCA Solo II (autocross) Competition, either an "M" or "SA" rating on the helmet is acceptable. At high speed track events, such as driving schools and lapping days, you might be required to have an SA rated helmet. Check with the event organizers for specifics on their helmet requirements."

A lot of helmets are offered in both SA and M ratings, the only difference being a nomex lining for fire protection vs. a nylon lining that will melt onto your face if shit goes wrong.
