That cuts me deep, Shrek. Real deep.

I had a '91 Escort with a Mazda BP engine (vacuum operated - stuck shut due to selonoid failure of some sort) and a '99 SHO (the cable to open the secondaries snapped in half). Both engines had almost complete engine shut-downs when the point in the RPM's that the secondaries were supposed to open didn't, due to the fact that the ECU expected a HELL of a lot more air than it actually got.
