I also have any electrical tools nessicary to solve your problem....but it sounds pretty simple. Either one of the wires coming from the battery is grounded on either side of your switch (starter) which wouldnt give you enough power, or youve shorted two wires together. Actually, depending on what kind of car you have, there might be a relay inbetween the starter aned the battery......Id have to see it for myself. PM me if you need some help, all you have to do is keep the beer coming.....

Not sure if this is your problem, but I know that ECUs on first gens always crap out and when they do, they cause all sorts of strange shit to happen

its a 1st gen DSM and yes there is a relay.
Not sure if this is your problem, but I know that ECUs on first gens always crap out and when they do, they cause all sorts of strange shit to happen

NOTE
i have traced a part of the problem. I belive its a wire coming off the ECU heres why.
On dsms when you put the key int eh car and turn it to ON the stck boost gauge jumps to "0" and the check engine light flickers on then off.
*On mine, my ECU is bolted to the car on one side. when i rock it one way the gauge jumps up and the CEL does its thing. When i move it back the gauge drops down, kinda like the ECU isnt even there.
*When the ECU is in the right space the car starts, if its not in the spot then it wont.
Sadly that still doenst allow it to start from the key turningi still have to use the jump button.

dude, my brother had electrical problems with his wiring harness from the alternater to the battery. it cost him about 175 at auto electric off of virginia beach blvd. if thats the problem, but it's a good place to go in virginia beach
