804 vs. 757
Not talking about in a fight or even a race but, more about in terms of living.
I'm going to a job interview tommorrow in Richmond, and I'm really considering relocating.
The job I will be taking is located I would say about 10 minutes down the road from Richmond International Raceway. The job requires that I be on call nearly 24 hours a day and I will be given basically a 2 hour notice. Most likely it would be me and my girl making the move, and would prefer something not to upscale but deffinetly not in the hood.( any suggestions on where to look and where to avoid.)
I've been up to Richmond twice within the past week and I really dont know where to many things are located. How does the traffic compare to the 757? When we went to Richmond, we left Portsmouth at 4:15pm, by 5:00pm we had just made to the outskirts of Newport News up by Jefferson/Yorktown. Then we made it to Richmond I think a little after 6. Are there any PITA tunnels, draw bridges, or anything like that that people have a hard time driving through.
Also Im a little more familiar with Petersburg than Richmond, plus if I have to go come back to the 757 for anything I like the drive down 460 better than 64. For those who know the area better would it be possible to make it from lets say the Richard Bland College area to roughly where the race track is located in Richmond in about an hour? Thats all the questions I can think of for the momement Im sure I will have plenty more but, any help with these would be appreciated Thanks

Re: 804 vs. 757
WAAAAY less traffic than Va Bch/Norfolk. Except maybe Short Pump this time of year.
Most expensive - West End/Short Pump. Argueably the best schools (if that is important)
Trendy - The Fan. Carytown. Area just west of the city. Old houses. Very cool. If I was single, this is where I would be.
Best bargains - hate to say it, but Southside. Little more traffic and not quite as nice (on average) as the West End, but still a very nice area.
Stay away - east end
Not a fan of Petersburg, sorry

highland springs for nice areas. If you have more money hanover mechanicsville if you have even more atlee area and more than westend/shortpump. they are also listed closest to farthest from your job area.

Southside is alittle far from where you'd be working. I dunno if that'd pose a problem for you or not. But Mechanicsville/Highland Springs has some nice areas, not to upscale like you're looking for and it's close to RIR.

I agree. As far as a nice place AND close to RIR, I go with Mechanicsville or the Fan.

lol you send him to southside and tell him stay away from the east end where RIR is. East end isnt bad at all its pretty quiet. i live off williamsburg rd. 2 mins from the bottom 10 mins to RIR i can be at any hwy in 10mins.
