Replacing 05+ Accord rotors
My friend needs to change her rotors off an 07 Accord. Anyone ever changed the rotors before? Is there a DiY?
Yes, I've searched online and these forums but I can't seem to find any updated information. Everything is for '90 model Accord or Preludes.
Thanks.

Re: Replacing 05+ Accord rotors
1: Support car on jackstands in front.
2: remove wheel.
3: remove caliper by unbolting the 2 bolts that hold it on the bracket.
3.5: remove caliper bracket be loosening 2 bolts that secure it to hub.
4: remove rotor
5: replace old rotor with new rotor.
6: compress caliper cylinder with C-clamp
7: replace old brake pads with new pads
8: bolt caliper back in place
9: install wheel
10: lower car from jackstands
11: repeat for both sides of car.
That will be $237. I take paypal.

Re: Replacing 05+ Accord rotors
I just did a sit about 2 months ago on my friends cars. Donkey had it just about right. add step 3.5 though. you actually will have to remove the caliper bracket bolts that secure it to the hub. but thats about it. Very simple, just like any other brake job

Re: Replacing 05+ Accord rotors
Thanks for the reply guys.
What size wrench will I need?
Can I loosen the bolts via hand power or do I need some kinda machine?
Sorry, it's an 2003 Accord BTW. Does that make a big difference?

Re: Replacing 05+ Accord rotors
basic hand tools should get the job done. you are gonna have to use a little bit of strength to get teh caliper bolts off, and the rotors may be a little stubborn coming off. use a hammer to tap the rotos off.....tap the top then the bttow on the face of the rotor, it will pop right off.
also, when using the c-clamp to re-compress the caliper piston, take GREAT CARE NOT to cock the piston to either side or it will nto go down and destroy your caliper.

Re: Replacing 05+ Accord rotors
its a impact driver....you hit it with a hammer and it turns to remove tight ass bolts...some hondas have two phillips screws holding the rotor to the hub..
