License/Permit Info for Virginia

Re: License/Permit Info for Virginia
I recently completed the MSF course and I am almost 19. So, if I go to the DMV and get a permit do I have to wait the 9months or should I just wait the 3 months till my birthday, give them the MSF certificate. I am not sure how it works.

Re: License/Permit Info for Virginia
I would go in on your 19th birthday to ask about getting your M endorsement on your license.

hahaha. So I guess my friend whom has a birthday in august is kind of screwed. if he goes ahead and turns in his permit he will only get it a few weeks before he can turn it in anyways.

Also the DMV in Norfolk near Janaf is real easy. They make you go then stop at a cone for the first test. Then go, pause at cone, go pause at another cone, then stop after the third set. Both of these are also in a straight line. The last is the right hand u-turn that you have to make inside the cones. That's not to hard either because the cones are the only thing you have to worry about unlike some DMV's where they have white lines painted that represent a wall and you have to stay inbetween that and the cones. I just got mine a week or so ago. I am still going to take the MSF course but I am going to wait till the weather gets warm.

Hehe. the thing is, should you really be riding a bike if all you know how to do is stop and go at some cones? Go take th MSF and pass it, take your certificate to the DMV and get your license no question asked. It's the safest way for everyone.

Re: License/Permit Info for Virginia
ok this might be a dumb question but does it matter what size bike you take? i have a 2009 yamaha R6 but if i can take a small bike i think the test would be easier..
