Re: WESTERN SPOTTED THREAD
Went to Natural Bridge for the first time in a LONG time last night.. Spotted an incredible turbo Mustang (notch) that if I'm not mistaken was running 5.10-5.20's unable to go down the track without lifting. It had what appeared to be a T-88 sized turbo sticking up out of the hood. Not much to look at, but damn it was fun seeing it go down the track

I'm not a fan of autos. The e46 3 series can be a very good car, [b]IF[/] it has been maintained properly. Waterpumps are the biggest thing to watch out for and there isn't a lot you can do but wait for it to go out.
This may sound stupid, but IMO the best new car you can get now is KIA. They have stepped up their quality and looks a lot in the last couple years and with a 10 year 100K mile warranty you don't have much to worry about. I think you can get the forte koupe for less than $15K and that's an awesome deal on a brand new car.

Re: WESTERN SPOTTED THREAD
A lot of manufacturers are doing 10 year 100,000 mile warranties now but that doesn't necessarily mean you don't have anything to worry about.
Though I do agree. Kia and Hyundai have come a LOOOOOONG way over the years!

I don't think there's much of an aftermarket for the Kia. The genesis is a little more expensive but I know there is somewhat of an aftermarket for it. However, I've been told that they're not that very fun to drive but I've never driven one so I can't say for sure.
If the new subaru brz/toyota gt 86 were just a little cheaper and more powerful they would be car of the year IMO. For just under $30K(decently optioned) they seem a little underpowered/overpriced. I plan on giving one a test drive first chance I get.
