WESTERN SPOTTED THREAD

Re: WESTERN SPOTTED THREAD
I cant imagine that tearing up the clutch after one time. I've done a ton of burn outs at the drag strip, work parking lot. Hell I did it on the street today when the guy on the back of the trash truck motioned at me to spin it haha

Yeah I mean I do get hard on it better never slipped it like that even when I didnt know how to drive a stick I when I first bought it,it had a little less than half petal now basically nothing still doesnt slip goes fine but yeah I was at the light after work testing it and I almost let it completely off before it engaged.I contacted the dealer soo we will see how the warranty works cause I dont have the mechanical knowledge or the equipment to change it myself.

Re: WESTERN SPOTTED THREAD
I really dont know I mean I slipped it good but shit the clutch was made for this car which is supercharged so IT should be able to take some abuse.either way still runs good just gotta see what hard kia wants to do about it they were kinda dicks when I made them rotate the rotors cause they had 3 mm groves in them ha.

Well aren't the Ions and the Cobalts sister cars? A buddy of mine had a Cobalt SS and the clutches were shit on them from the factory. You have to baby them off the launch or you'll end up tearing the hell out of them. He burned his up launching at the strip at Bristol. Just a thought.

As far as the clutches being designed for abuse, I don't really think so... We're talking about a 200ish hp car here, regardless of the supercharger. I'm pretty confident they used just enough to get by from the factory. If you're going to break things, break it under warranty! lol

Re: WESTERN SPOTTED THREAD
I've been a noob for the past hour looking online and since the clutch isnt slipping when engaged it could have just came out of adjustment and also says many people perfer it where you almost have the petal up before it engages for faster shifting I mean it grabs good will still spin the tires no slipping I'm thinking something just loosened up cause theres no way that little bit burnt my clutch up.
