23 miles each way, side roads. 1 freeway, but I stay on the feeder where there isn't any traffic.

Thoughts on Helmets? I'm going to buy a Biltwell Gringo for when I want to be super cool and trendy :/

but...

I just picked up a Shoei X-12 for daily riding/commuting to work. I haven't ridden with it yet. I can return it and try something else if I want.

I really really like my Scorpion. Didn't think I would, my shoei just has worn out pads and as been dropped before so I don't use it when I go on spirited rides, anymore.

Exo750 is what I have.

Just ordered these. Hopefully they relieve my ass cramps after 40 minutes of riding. If not, I'll be ordering a hellaciously expensive Mustang seat.

I love the shit out of my rf1100 but if I were to buy another, I'd probably go with the quest.
Def Shoei all the way though.

You wont be disappointed, I have done 2 sore saddles and rode to sturgis and back on my custom amsss seat and have had zero ass, back, or any other cramps in the 25k+ miles I have ridden on it
