I loaned out my 4" angle grinder and haven't seen it since. Have an assortment of air tools in Maryland if you need me to bring some back after Christmas for future projects. Sign up for Harbor Freight's mailing list for $5 off %50 and $10 off $100 coupons. Can't beat their prices on the cutting discs and grinding wheels, as such items are disposable - buy in bulk.

I should be good for now. Since you took me there I frequent that place thanks to you...lol. I used a cutting wheel at work today and got them nice and clean.

That's why it was step 1 of 3 recommended: cut, grind, finishing.

Still an incredibly stupid suggestion.

Its obvious you have no experience in the matter. I would have used a porta-band. The blade won't flex and curve like a sawz-all, no matter how straight you keep one end, the other will be way off. Now you're talking about a lot of fucking grinding, you may as well just use the grinder.

But I've noticed you like giving people advice when you don't have a fucking clue. Stick to reading your state code next time.

More people here have a sawz-all and they could hack it off with a metal cutting blade if necessary, rather than using a time consuming hack saw. Less people have a 2" cutting wheel, which would have been ideal. Even less have a porta-band which is very difficult to use under a car. The parts did not need to be cut off the car, so it was a moot point.

Grinding is essential to straighten the cut edge, unless you are holier than God and can slice metal with precision. Finishing is necessary to finesse the edges as a grinding wheel is not too precise either.

My advice is posted. You can take it or leave it. Didn't see you post anything constructive in the thread to help the person who was asking for it.
