Corbzin, you should pick up a copy of Maximum Boost by Corky Bell. A higher compression ratio will have higher combustion temperatures and make more power on the same amount of boost, however if combustion temperatures get to high you will get what is known as pinging. A lower compression ratio will be substantially easier to have tuned, and cheaper for you in the long run.
This is a great book, I highly recommend it as well. You can find it in any book store and very cheap on Amazon nowadays. It answered a lot of questions when I built my first turbo car...

Your particular turbo size is small from most run on the s2000 motor. The s2000 motor is so efficient it likes a larger turbo. With your car the stock compression is fine for over 400whp, above that adding a 3mm headgasket will be the way to go. There are stock s2000 motors with 3mm headgaskets producing more than 600whp. We are in the process of producing a kit for the s2000 http://www.ptuning.com/html/Item-Des...odelDesc=S2000 it is on the s2ki forums as well. This kit out of the box (gt35) reaches full spool at 3500 rpm and produced over 400whp with stock compression on 93 octane. it uses a .70 cold side and .82 hot.
Another thing you can do is run a water methanol injection kit to allow for more boost!

Low Compression Ratios for Street Cars
High Compression for Race cars.
Keep it that way with a turbo motor and go with quality parts and you'll be fine.
At the power levels you want probably, the turbo makes the power, not the motor.
