i know i spent like 250 to get my axle replaced in my std because i couldnt get the right axle anywhere, after i got the car back it was pulling hard to sone side, so i looked at the axle and the boot was was all stretched out.

I took it back to the place and left it there almost all day for them to tell me, oh its fine everything is good. Which i know it wasnt. well.... the next week it was clunking loud as a bitch every turn. no ripped boot or nuthin.

i never had time to take it back within the warranty though so o well.

Sure enough, that seemed to have been the source of the clunking noise. Last time I rotated my tires I had lowered it down some more, which I frankly had completely forgot haha b/c I didn't drive my car much at school. Still though, I don't remember it clunking at all till the last few weeks so that's still confusing but oh well.

When the car was jacked up I also put one of the wheels back on and gave it a few spins... definitely some clicking from the passenger's side CV (I was wrong on that too, sounded like it was coming from the driver's side). BUT when I put the car back down and drove it around the neighborhood I didn't hear any clicking so my only thought on that was by raising the car I took some of the stress off of the CV axle. Granted its still going to need replaced but with the car raised up a bit its doesn't seem to be something I need to fix asap.

But yeah I'm frustrated w/ the coilovers. I'm on tein ss coilovers, and if I lower it back down to where I like it, then I'm going to have to put up with the clunking noise b/c the springs aren't long enough to reach the perches if I lower them any more.
coilovers will make noise when going over big bumps because the spring itself is not tall enough to fill the "gap" when the suspension is fully traveled therefore the spring moves around slightly and causes this noise, its normal, just gotta get used to it.
