i also wouldn't reccomend slicks, not for a beginner on his first track day anyway.
i got me a new track toy... i may have to get back on track sometime soon.

Re: NESBA FREE TRACK DAY
i'm assuming you mean a valve adjustment?
not sure what the price is for JUST a valve adjustment, i believe a full tune up with oil/filter/valve adjustment is $175 (?), plus parts. that'll include checking EVERYTHING. (plugs, filter, etc)

agreed, thats crazy. i dont think that extra layer of jeans will help your knee when it hits the ground.
i met a guy about a month ago that had a scar on his knee from it dragging the ground in jeans.. it wasnt pretty. he said it touched the ground for a split second, and it took all the flesh off his knee cap.

Re: NESBA FREE TRACK DAY
NESBA allows you to ride the intro sessions with two pair of jeans or textile, BUT the intro is REALLY slow paced. If you go, have leathers with you, cause your not going to want to stop with just two sessions, trust me.
About all you need for bike prep is masking tape, good tires, good brakes, no leaks (in the intro/beginner group).
