I did a junkyard setup with an HF manifold, i hated that fuckin POS manifold. Buy an aftermarket one with a spot for an external wastegate, shit'll run better and the install will go smoother.

Re: Boosting a DOHC ZC
i understand that not everyone can afford a brand new pretty off the shelf turbo kit but i don't like the sound of this junkyard set up. A friend of mine bought a used kit(very similar to what your describing) it was pretty much a big frankenstein setup and he got nickel and dimed like crazy with all sorts of shit that wouldn't exactly fit right, or a whole bunch of extras that were necessary to make it run properly. Than once everything gets going, the FMU broke(because FMU's are pieces of shit) and he ended up spending the same amount of money when it was all said and done that he would have spent just doing it the right way and buying a brand new kit, where all the parts are actually made to coincide with one another.

Seriously, I wouldn't go that back yard on it. Get a manifold and a tial 38mm wastegate.
You can use a 3rd gen supra, dsm side mount, or buy a johnny race car one... Intercooler piping, go to autozone, get some bends... bust out the welder htere you go..
or get a cold air intake, and work from there.

Re: Boosting a DOHC ZC
guys nothing is wrong with using a hf manifold on a low power d series setup. Many people have used them and made decent power. Here is a couple pics of mine. Been running it for over 2 years.
