Jared, you will be fine. How vtec works is when the solenoid is activated, a spool valve opens and allows more Oil Flow/Pressure and a rocker arm locks in place. If you don't have VTEC Wired up, you have nothing to worry about. It will be just like a Non-VTEC sohc until you get a p28.

the only thing that will happen is you will float the four valves that open further in vtec no sudden damage. after a while your vtec will soon hit alot softer

What the hell are you talking about? You can't float valves that aren't being actuated (especially valves that are meant for high RPM), and you can't make VTEC "hit softer" doing anything like that. There is no "further in VTEC", VTEC is either engaged or not (on or off) there are no stages of on or off..

lolwhat i often tell people before they try to work on a car.....you must first learn how something works before you can work on it. hell most people dont even know the 4 cycles of the common gasoline automobile engine.
