i replaced the coil already. it had hairline cracks all over it. but after i changed it. no difference

take one of the otehr coils and move it to that one...if the faulty non firing plug goes with it then you know its the coil and not a ecu issue...

move 1 to 4 and if the no fire sympton goes with it then its the coil

i did this already. its still cylinder 1 no spark. so ign. chip?
ive been reading a lot and the symptoms i have sound just like the ones ive read about. ive got good compression across the board. checked injectors.
ive heard its common for ign chip to go bad on RWD sr20.

all i can really do is swap a working one in from a friends car and go from there

did you get another ignitor? ALSO!!!!!! Check continuity between ECU to ignitor, and then to #1 injector coil wire. its really simple if you have the FSM!!!!!!

used my friends ignitor..didnt work
i took off my fuel rail and checked for leaky injectors...nothing
checked voltage on CAS..perfect

weird thing though, i unpluged my maf while the car was running and it went up alittle in idle and sounded normal but as soon as plug it back in the car almost turned of and started running shitty again....but would a faulty maf cause it to run on 3 cylinders?!?

MAF wont cause it to run on 3 cylinders, although it would cause less than ideal A/F ratios and a rev limit of 2500 RPM.

something that i've seen happen to some SR20s over the years is the coil pack harness is damaged on branch that goes to coilpack number 4. If you have a buddy that has an SR, swap that out and see if it fixes the problem.

if that turns out to be the prob and you have trouble finding a coilpack harness, i have an extra one in DC that you can take.

if the harness is messed up on cylinder 4...even though cylinder 4 works it effects cylinder 1?
