I had a similar situation but with no alcohol....
I went to a car show ass early and was dead tired from the night before. Once I arrived I started quick detailing my car. After I finished I did a glance over and there were spots and blotches everywhere. I look at my hand and I was holding back-to-black in a spray bottle. I was wondering why the detailer took so long to wipe off my car? lol

A buddy at the Corvette show relayed a similar story... after a few beers he started "waxing" his '67 with orange hand cleaner

LOL, you inspired me to tell my weekend retarded idea.
I was claying my car a little last week and didn't finish. Saturday I decided I'd try to finish, but was almost out of lubricant (had a Mequires clay kit with the Quick Detailer spray) and didn't feel like going out to get more. I had been thinking since the last time I clayed the car that the stuff smelt like tanning oil or something. So I got the idea that I'd use some tanning oil as lube, shit is slippery as fuck so I figured I'd give it a shot...
LOL, I sprayed some on the side of the door and as soon as the clay touched it, it was like it turned the clay into bubble gum and stuck to the door and any time I even tried to rub the clay it just kept coming apart from the clay ball and sticking to the door. I just grabbed a bucket of soap and water and it washed off with a little elbow grease.
Really dumb idea, lol.

^ LOL... FYI you can use a spray bottle of soap/water to clay with.... you don't have to have detail spray.

Stupid corvette owners
Not as bad as my uncle falling and scratching his Gallardo with a beer bottle the day he got it a couple years ago! haha
