Default Aircraft Remover on A Carbon Fiber hood??

Haha I wondered the same thing why paint it,but I got kinda I loss so far I got all these steps

1. Wet sand with 600
2. Wet sand with 1200 to remove the scratches
3. Then finish it by wet sanding it with 200 grit
4. Some type of 3m compound I didn't quite understand that part
5. Buff it
6. Re-Clear it

People who want weight savings but not a mismatched body panel paint their carbon parts. No mystery there.

If you're removing the paint, you really need to clearcoat the hood with a decent UV protecting clearcoat. UV damages resin, which is the other reason parts are painted.

And I believe that should be 2000 grit, not 200 grit. Big difference.

Oh God, sorry man yea i meant to put 2000 not 200 grit lol. The 3m buffing compound you can only use that stuff if you have a good gelcoat to start with if not then you have to re-clear it. but if you get orange peel in the clear coat then you wet sand and use the 3m compound. sorry about the mix up and not taking time to state things in the right way i was at work and in a rush to toss you some info...o and you forgot the last step. smack old owner
