How did your interview go? what exactly will you be doing? 250 isnt bad i suppose for someone who has no actual automotive experience. The best part is that you are gaining the experience of a shop so when you do become certified your pay should go up if you decide to stay there or move on to another shop/dealership. Good luck dude

i did all the required classes for the degree, so like basically all the auto classes besides the machine shop/welding classes.

Typically at a dealership you'd start out as a Lube Tech and work your way up from there. If you come in with tech school experience, they might throw you on the line immediately. They can also send you to school.
I work for Honda and the potential and support to move up is great. We have an online database called IN Honda Online University where you can take test/modules at your own rate. Depending how many tests youve completed determines your position/pay.

Oh by the way. Being a technician is hard and can be very laborous but the income can be very worth it.
I.E. There's a few techs at my place that make over 100 grand a year.
