How close to capacity is it?

Would like to make it but trying to gauge if I can feasibly get my car there or not.

Nowhere near close to full. The current status and number of available spots is always listed at the top of the pre-reg page https://www.nasaproracing.com/event/1050

There are also always at least 10 spots available that morning for walk-up registrations.

There's never a bad time to start autocrossing! My wife's first race was a NASA autocross at Langley 3 seasons ago, and she's hooked now This is actually the perfect time, as this is the first race you can do and still be eligible as a novice for all the local clubs this season. NASA usually gets a lot of runs, too, so you'll have more seat-time.

Just dress warmly for the cold and HAVE FUN!
