LS crank in GSR block

Re: LS crank in GSR block
im only confused..why run a gsr block.. and a b16 head it would be a waste of money..
especially if u already have a ls block..but if u have a gsr block i sell it or keep it and buyy a gsr head and run a GSR not half of one..some people rather run b16 cause there similar to Tr's.. but it all depends on what ur looking for turbo/na..
im running stock ls block, with gsr head..
got the golden eagle vtec kit and everything works fine...
just throwing that out there..not as difficult as it sounds.
vtec hits hard in mine might wanna throw a type r cam if ur running b16 head..depends on what ur looking for

yes... its a poor mans type r. the head is for flow unless hes looking for a better combustion with more compression

Re: LS crank in GSR block
And for who ever was wondering why i dont run a GSR head, is because why do that when i ALREADY have the head. When i can buy a incomplete GSR block for semi cheap and get the LS internals for very cheap. Buying a GSR longblock cost mo fo sho.

Re: LS crank in GSR block
LS crank in a GSR block is an awesome combo. You get the GSR block with the girdle, and the stronger block casing. Don't forget you have to modify the oil squirters- especially if you use aftermarket rods. (LS rods throw that shit nig)

Wow. I agree that this thread is full of false/misinformed information.
To the OP the combo that you are trying to do will work without a problem. When I did mine no one made the oil block off kits so I had the tube cut down to clear the crank and then had the hole welded shut. And like said before it is a poor man’s type-r.
I would leave the crank alone do not lighten it unless you plan to use it in a race application.
Good luck with the build.
