Maybe I will try a juckyard. My head says 96 does that still mean it came for a 1997 crv? I know alittle about cars but I am willing to learn haha and I am going to be going to school for automotive soon so give me a break here, most chicks can't even change there own oil . .....What do u mean a few more days at the beach and I will?

or listen to the people that told you not to replace the entire distributor.

its either the coil, or the ignitor.

Take them out, and get them tested at advance.

They're roughly 100 each brand new

Sounds like the ignition module that is with-in the distributor. 100 dollars at advanced.

OP,

Try this to figure if it is the coil or the igniter. Take the distributor cap off. Once that is off take the rotor button and the dust cap off. Once all of those parts are out of the way you will be able to see the internals of the distributor.

Now the coil will be at the top of the distributor and it has two wires that connect to the right side of it. Take a test light to both of the wires with the ignition on. Both of the wires should be hot, if one is not hot the issue will be the igniter.

The next thing to do if both of those wires are hot put the test light onto the coil where the little spring is and have some one try to start the car. The test light should go on and off, if it does not then it is the coil.

One more tip all of the internals (coil and igniter)(other parts are too but getting into a different subject) are inter changeable with other Honda distributors from OBD1 and up.
