Welp, just got off the phone and got a couple things finalized that I wanted before saying anything.

I'm going to be prototyping some new hybrid turbos on my 1er. The stock turbos are TD03s and the hybrids are TD03 housings machined to fit TD04 wheels. The company doing them specialises in building/rebuilding turbos for large industrial engines and for small bore diesel trucks. They're getting into the automotive market and they decided to start with the N54(pretty smart move IMO since there are only 2 turbo upgrade options at this point.)

Since I'm prototyping the turbos I'm getting A HELLUVA discount, even so, I hope it's worth it lol

The turbos should ship in 3 weeks. It's not going to be HUGE numbers or anything, It should put me around 500rwhp/500rwtq with my current supporting mods and tuned for meth.

Thats gonna be awesome, must go for another ride! Numbers are cool and all, but its about putting it to the ground. Thats gonna be a huge problem for me soon and I desperately need to find a place where I can score a deal on some sticky tires.

The only thing that would worry me about the turbos is that they are bored out. I'm not sure on how much bigger it is from TD03 to TD04, I may do some research on this later, but how much displacement is created would concern me about how much stress/tolerance the hybrid turbos could take. I'm just thinking as in how thin they are making the cast after they machine/bore it out.

Dude, try the Hankook RS-3s. I have the V12s and they hook well for me, RS3s are similar but A LOT stickier.

I have the V12s also and I've heard good things about the RS-3s also. My first choice is the RE-11s and second is the AD08s.

Apparently it's not a BIG change. The TD03->TD04 hybrid is the status quo turbo upgrade for my platform, 2 other companies have been producing the same thing for about 3 years and I haven't found any premature failures of their turbos.
