Re: 1st Time Reckless Driving Summons - Need Advice
It's a bit of a stretch. I don't think you can make a solid correlation there, at least not enough to get yourself scared over when going to court. If you want to make yourself feel better by saying "I got fucked over because of the economy", that's your deal. The fact is that the economy didn't make you get busted for reckless driving. Nothing is a sure thing when you face a judge and ask for leniency.

My first ticket was 86 in a 55. Trooper looked like he was ready to bust a cap in my ass. Anyhow... went to court by myself and that didn't go to well. Suspended for 90 days and a big ass fine and 10 days suspended. I appealed and got an attorney which was like $700... still got suspended for 60 days, ticket got reduced to 80 in a 55 speeding and still had a big ass fine. Basically... even with a lawyer... don't plan on any miracles. I have a feeling you will be walking for a little while my friend.

i got tagged doin 92 in a 55 on the chesapeake bay bridge. i went to a 'friend' that ownes a shop and had him print me up an invoice for a new speed-o. i hired a lawyer for 500$ and went to court. i told the judge that i had got the speed-o replaced just after payday and that it had just broke and was reading 0. i got no jail time, kept my license, and a 250$ fine

you should be alright considering it was your first offense. but since you got caught in a county that doesnt really take shit like that you might be screwed. just depends on the judges attitude. ive had 3 tickets in the last two years and got a wreckless but was reduced to improper driving. i mean you were caught dude so just go to court and take it. at the most you might get some probation of somesort but i doubt it will be serious. again be honest and straight with the judge. why spend that money on a lawyer and shit when you could simply walk away with a fine for the ticket. just my advice but good luck
