MOPED? For FREE? YES PLEASE!
Late '70s/ early '80s Columbia Commuter.
50cc, 2-stroke, I believe it's a 1 speed (didn't feel/hear a shift) RUNNING!
Check it: (pic he sent me from previous owner)
Scooped this from my step father. Apparently it was given to him by a neighbor about 5 years ago when said neighbor decided to move but didn't have a way to take it with him. I never knew it was there untill I mentioned to him I might need scooter for the next 90 days. (take a guess why)
"[blah blah]...you can have it if you want, just don't get rid of it 'till after I die"
My step father, being the redneck that he is, noticed the wheels started to rust so he painted them silver (tires and all LOL). The brakes squeal a little bit and need to be adjusted, the throttle sticks at any position (needs to be manually turned back to slow/idle...awesome cruise control though!) but the damn thing runs like a raped ape! EDIT: Just noticed the tires are dry rotted real bad!
It apparently wasn't ridden much but was left outside at some point. Structurally, it's in good shape but the stickers and paint are gone/spent. Awesome find no?

Yeah.... Not in person just through the site and here. I've met Christina in person though.
You have a new medal for the link.
Got anything else for me, resto/mod wise? I'm sure the shocks/forks need to be rebuilt (unless they are supposed to be that squishy) and I'd love to squeeze a little more speed out of it. To hell with the 35mph law!!
