Default Can my buddy use synthetic motor oil in his 2008 Pontiac G5?
My co-worker has a 2008 Pontiac G5 2.2L, and he wants to know if he can start using synthetic oil instead. I said yes, mobil1 full synthetic 5-W30.. but I wanted to be sure.

once he switches, make sure he understands that he can not switch back. full synthetic costs more than dyno or blended.

That's a load of crap on a modern engine. I don't know why you'd want to switch back to something that doesn't work as well (non-synth), but there aren't any problems with doing that.
