Did anyone else bowl in the City Tournament the past couple of weeks?

ive only been bowling for a little over a year.. at western branch on thursdays..

i FINALLY bowled a 200 game in league play last week, doing it twice.. 204-171-214.. my highest set so far..

Damn good job, it took me alomst 11 years (albeit I started when i was three) But keep it up, you'll be shooting 600's in no time.

I bowl mainly at Seaside @ dam neck, but I also bowl at lynnhaven

yea.. i picked up a new ball, 16lber, my 14 was getting too light.. and since i throw a hook with the 14 "straight" ball, i figured i buy a 16lb "hook" ball.. (columbia Hyde)

i drop it on the farest left board i can, go over to the farthest right board, most the time gutter it, or it will come all the way back and MAYBE take out the 7 pin..

so ive been bowling with a 16lb house ball these last few weeks and ive talked my dad into buying me this balll for my birthday..

what lb ball do you use..??

i think the main thing with my Hyde is that i dont use my thumb, just middle and ring..

i mean, i throw a pretty big hook with a straight ball and i have no control over the huge hook i throw with the hyde..

I bowled for several years. I had my average up in the 190's before I got frustrated and stoped. Placed 1st in the city tournament back 4 years ago, and 2nd in doubbles. I just recently started up a league after 4 years of not bowling. So far Im carying a 165 avg after the 2nd week.

High Game -- 298
High Set -- 768
High Book Average -- 194

Right now Im bowling with an Amforce 4 resin ball. It's an old ball iv had for about 6 years. I also have a Ebonite Ceramicore ball that has insane pin reaction but its just hard to control. Hopefully I can bring my average back up. I bowled a 182-188-166 set tonight. Not that great but its geting better.

where abouts you bowl at..? i'm looking at joing another league.. bowling once a week just isnt cutting it..
