It might be a GT40. Ive seen one at a car show once. It was Red with White Stripes. The guy said he drove it every once in a while to work.

that gt40 you saw does drive it to work a lot, but not really this year. Talk to him once in a while at my work. He has gone 195MPH on the circle track and said could have gone faster. He has over $120,000 in just the engine. Big Money. Won Best Exotic at the 2002 Fun Ford Weekend.

Probably not.

People rarely built GT-40 kits on the Fiero because they don’t really have the same dimensions.

Most GT-40 kits are custom ground up tube frames similar to the original. Generally they utilize the ZF transaxle from a Pantera, though a pretty rare unit in and of itself. If you are unable to come across the ZF transaxle then a Volvo unit is used with good success.

Factory 5’s new kit/super car uses this Volvo unit too.

Yep, the Pantera was an attempt to get a cheap reliable power plant in a sexy Italian body. Unfortunately the Italians still made the electrical system which was known to be a piece of crap and eventually Ford quit importing them because they were tired of fixing them.

Elvis shot his Pantera when it wouldn’t start.
