Learning to paint...need paintgun advice
well I am trying to learn to paint and need advice on a decent gun or gun set to start out learning with. I dont want to spend a whole lot of money and i dont need the nicest gun at all, just something that will work pretty good to learn to paint with and will last me a while as i get better.
These are a few that i was looking at:
http://autobodystore.net/Merchant2/m...ory_Code=2DBSG
http://autobodystore.net/Merchant2/m...gory_Code=LESE
if you have any experience with any of these or any suggestions for other/better guns please let me know.
also where is a good place in the 757 to buy paint?and what is a good paint to use to practice with, i wanna get a decent primer, BC and CC that wont be shitty but isnt gonna empty my wallet as im sure im going to go through ALOT of it.

Mattos on the corner of Witchduck rd. and Virginia Beach blvd. for paint
Those guns are fine if your just trying to get the feel of using one and gun time. Don't expect it to come out any what decent but at least you'll know how to use it, parts of the gun, gun cleaning, and just get the feel and build up your paint arm.

so any suggestions on ones that i can buy that arent going to be like $400 that i can learn with and eventually paint my car with that will come out decent? i dont need to have somethin that will be showcar quality but i dont want it to look like ass and id rather just spend a lil more upfront for it to last me longer than to have to buy agian when i want to paint my car
any suggestions on good primer, paint, and clear that will be on the cheap side but not shitty

the gun is half the battle. Experience and prepping really good is where you really get to see great results. I have painted cars with a $14.95 gravity gun from harborfreight and it came out decent after a few hours of sanding anf polishing. Then i bought the HVLP harborfreight gun and really got a lot better. I have painted about 10 cars and now Im ready to buy a professional gun and compressor. When choosing a gun make sure your compressor is rated for your gun. If not you will have a hard time painting. Im selling my setup now this weekend to another forum member on here. GL.

+1 I would eventually like to learn how to paint a car myself.
I wouldnt mind reading an entire writeup on step-by-step best way to prep/paint.
I wanna learn how to tell differences in qualities of paint and guns.
Also dent removal.

I agree with this and think it would make for a good read. Someone start a thread or post if one has already been done in the past. To lazy to look right now.
