Eg coupe ls swap problems
Ok so i picked up a 93 eg coupe with b18a1 and jdm head the other day, and the cel is on and throwing 3 and 6 codes.
It doesnt like to be cold started has a hard time staying running
and when i start it, it will start and idle low like it wants to shut off then go back up after its warmed up
3 is MAP sensor
and 6 is ECT (engine coolant temp) sensor.
so a buddy gave me a new MAP sensor and replaced it, unhooked the battery for awhile to reset the code.
still came on as map sensor
and the ect connector was still from a d series so i swapped the connector wired it up and still has code 6
and will still run like before.
anybody know what to do?

Re: Eg coupe ls swap problems
ok so i found the problems for both.
the dude who did the swap before me had the wrong wires connected to them,
found other connectors hanging out plugged em in and cleared the code and now all good n runing perfect
but......now
i took it out just now drove it no codes, then goosed it to about 5k and the cel came on
i jumped it and code 41 came up, primary 02 sensor heater.
could it be a bad 02 sensor? never came up before when i was hard on it

Re: Eg coupe ls swap problems
The ECU is probably running properly now that you have cleared the faults, which is why the O2 sensor is showing up all of a sudden. You know there were other wiring problems, so I would check the O2 sensor wiring too. If you find out that you need a new sensor, get a OEM Honda sensor instead of an aftermarket sensor from Autozone. I know the Honda sensors are more expensive, but they actually work properly.
The guy you bought it from must have been pretty intelligent if he messed up an LS swap in an EG. It doesn't get any easier than that when it comes to engine swaps.
