What happened to that dude really sucks!!!! But don't go thinking that gear makes you invulnerable either! If I'm out for a weekend ride out in Pungo I'm usually in full leathers. Though they may help if I lowside or highside; they might not do so much if I'm hit by a car or smack into a tree!

That's why you have to have your head on a swivel and ride aggresively; not passively!!!!!!!!! No offense to that guy; but if I know it's not a cop coming up on my ass I'm not gonna let him pass me on a one lane offramp!!!!!!!!

I'm glad he's relatively ok; sucks that the cops obviously never found out who did it to press charges. I wouldn't wish what happened to him on my worse enemy!

WOW that is just terrible....Yeah you are right Leathers won't help if you hit a car or tree but it you got thrown and slide lilke he did the leatheres and gloves would have helped him out a bit..

That is sad though, especially that the Union isn't giving him shit for $$...

i saw that on another website, that really sucks, although there is little chance i really hope they somehow find the guy that hit him

but yea when i ride i am always somewhat pissed off, because when i ride i assume every single car on the road is purposely going to do their worst to try and harm/kill me, so when soccer mom pulls out in front of me i'm not shocked what so ever because i expected her to, and i have time to react and/or put a nice dent in the side of her Excursion... but i credit that with me having almost zero close calls, everyone i talk to says they have a close call maybe once a week or couldn't even count the total number of times they had to swerve for someone that pulled out in front of them, i don't think i'm just lucky, i think its my offensive riding style that has made all of what would have been close calls non-events

I feel that, except for the "I cant wait" part. Cause i dont want any of that shit happening to me. Matter of fact, this story has me rather shook. But since i drive aggressively in a car, i dont see why i couldnt or wouldnt be the same way on a bike. I agree the guy shouldnt have let the car pass him, but how was he to know that fucker would have hit him though. in any case it was a tragic turn of events for him

You just have to ASSUME that EVERYONE is out to hit you when you're on a bike. It's the only way in my humble opinion to stay safe!!!!!!!!
