Alright, first time I've had to get a student loan so not quite sure how it works. Just wondering if anyone can answer one question for me, does tuition get paid automatically like it does with financial aid? If not how do I go about paying tuition.

 

pretty sure it does, just gotta check with ur FA counciler and see when it goes through.

 

FA counselors aren't in the offices right now.

I've been approved for my loan since beginning on December so I'm not sure if it goes through like regular FA does. Anyone else know a bit more?

 

All I did was fill out the paperwork. Gave it to the FA office. Registered for my classes.

Bought my books and I got a check back in the mail later into the semester.

They did the work for me.

 

well it depends what you mean, did you take out a student loan or are you getting Financial Aid?

Financial Aid you dont have to pay back, but if you take out a loan then you have to pay that back.

If you take out a loan, you request any amount of money you want. If your tuition is $1200, you can take out $800 or $1500, whatever you want, but of course you have to pay it all back.

 

Yes, I know that I have to pay back my loan.I already have the loan and it's approved for $1,300 that I can use for this semester. It shows up in my financial aid section in TCC's SIS but I don't know if I have to pay for my tuition and then I get a check later(like mentioned above) or if my classes automatically get paid for.

All of my paper work has already been done so as far as TCC doing it for me they haven't yet which is why I asked here.

 

if its already in your sis, chances are its already paid for. once you click register, it will just subtract the tuition due from the financial aid, and you do zippo.

thats how it was for me when i had a grant show up in my sis.

 

Well I assumed it would be that way but it still says that I have pending charges due by the 3rd of jan. and the charges due are for my tuition.

But, I emailed the head of norfolk FA so hopefully she gets back to me. Until then, keep the ideas flowing.

 

i know somebody has to have some insight on tcc student loans and how they work.
