how big is the difference between rideing a sportbike vrs rideing a dirtbike

 

ive found that knowing what kind of bike you want, and or interested in and registering in the appropriate forum, to be better than getting on a general bike forum.

 

i was looking at either a honda CBR ir a suzuki GSXR

 

ah.. id say dirtbike to me always feel like a play thing, sportbikes i feel like if i fukup im dead, so i dont fuk around.

plus when your leaned over scrapping peg, its a whole other world from what little jumping and power sliding i did with the dirt.
but as one guy said, dirtbike teaches yuh bike control, but sportbikes teach you to be attentative and throttle control... i dont know, i dont think ive ridden dirtbikes enough to give u that answer...
but the difference in the 2 to me is like driving a BMW M3, and a S10... yeah your driving and the S10 is fun and makes u smile, but man, that M3 just does it.

i hate gixxers, but thats because i dont like how the feel, very good bikes, but i prefer the others...

for the older cbr's try cbrworld.com and some others....

this is how i do it... new vehicle enter google.. then type "vehicle name" forums ... search... scan the 1st 3 sometimes more, read a couple threads, see how its organised, see if the post sound like kids, or more mature...
is it about stunting racing or both... then i pick the best one... and no matter where you go, use the search function, cause your not the 1st and u wont be the last bike n00b.

 

well i like the CBR more but someone told me gixxers are good starter bikes

if i had a choice between the 2 i would go for a CBR

 

if i could do it again, id start with a SV650... if you get like a 00 or 01 jiggy 600, you'll be fine, but after getting a 1000, i now understand why they say start smaller then 600.

just get a lil 500 to putt putt around on man, u can prolly pick one up for under $2500 and ride it around till you feel good, when you get bored, start hitting the twisties with some big guys, your gonna get smoked on every straight but if your a fast learner and are learning the right things you'll be right on em in the corners and braking, like move mofo... then get left again.. when u get to that stage, start shopping for a 600.

If you dont want to do that, start with a SV650...
But most MOST importantly... please, and i say please, get some proper gear... full fingered leather gloves, a good lid, that isnt 10 years old, a jacket, leather preferably, but u prolly wont.. and some dedicated riding boots, not vans, fuk that, "i cant feel the shifter bs" i ride in $300 race boot everytime, its bs... be safe be smart, take your time and dont rush it, it'll come to you... if you rush it, you'll only fall sooner and harder.
