CRX HF Mods
I got a 90 HF, I just ordered a Greddy exhaust system, OBX cat, JDM generic short shifter. My question is this: I have a D16z6 head I originally bought for my eg hatch as well as a d16z6 manifold and DC sports header. Will the header and intake mani fit on my HF motor without the Z6 head on it? If possible I'm not really trying to put the head on just yet as I suck at wiring vtec. I'm also getting a CRX si tranny and stage one clutch. What do you'all think about my tuning process?
you can put the head on and still run obd 0 just don't run the vtec it won't hurt it i did it for about a 1/2 year the intke will work on the hf head but you have to get either a si or int. ls throtle body i think that is what i was told once but i'm not to sure on that the header will no problem but if you plan to turbo in the future save the hf mani. you can get an adapter for like 50 bucks and bolt a t25 to it
do they make a obd-0 to obd-1 jumper harness? i am not sure but if they do i would go that route, put on the head and use that crx si tranny...... mind you it would be MAD FAST VTAK y0, but it will get out of its own way
oh yeah the si tranny will be alot nicer than the long geared slow hf but you will need to change your hubs (dx or si one will work) and cv axles or else your cv axles will not lock in it will drive fine but leak oil out the tranny pretty bad plus on getting a clutch make sure it is for the right year tranny because the 88 has different splines on it been there on all this and it sucks but after it was all done it was well worth it
aren't HF motors 8-valve motors? if you install the z6 head, won't that make the valves hit the piston since there is no valve relief? just asking cause i could have sworn 16 valve heads can't go on 8 valve motor bottom ends.... but i could be wrong.

get a Crx Si swap
that is true i didn't even catch that on that note i would look for a z6 or y8 bottom end the hf is the odd ball all the way around but it is the lightest of them all
