Oh ok... I never saw any. I remember seeing a coaster or two, but not a "park" per se. And damn... The beach? Talk about getting screwed up. High wind, water, salt in the air... I bet those things required constant care.

 

From what I read in the paper about the Pavilion at the beach, they shut down for a number of reasons... I'm getting old, but I think my memory serves me correctly.

1. The family that owned it was done with it and wanted to move on.

2. They were paid a pretty penny for that land. It was prime real estate.

3. I do think profits were down.. In fact, they may have been losing money towards the end. I don't think something like the Pavilion can really be used as an example to the type of park that I'm talking about though. I can honestly say that it was a shock to hear that they were having any sort of financial problems, seeing as I always went there when I'd go to the beach, and I'd always spend a bunch of money. I wasn't the only one. That place was a fucking landmark! It's just not going to be the same, and that shit makes me sad. I wish they could have saved it somehow...

 

yeah it does suck balls they ripped it down... oh well, they even got rid of the karts down toward the end where Crown Reef is....thats been gone for a few years tho...they dont have shit no more right on the beach..lol
