Are red light cameras still active these days? One of my friends is worried because he sped up trying to avoid a collision. I dont know if there was a camera there or not, but he remembers seeing a little light bulb up at top. The light was at the intersection of 123 and 29. What would happen if he was actaully caught and would it go on insurance?

in the last month ive been through two toll booths off of the dulles toll road and have come up short on change.

i know its only 50 cent but i never keep change with me.

both times i ran through the booth and so far no tickets in the mail.

one time there was actually a cop standing next to the machine too hahaha

 

They recently passed a law allowing their use again. I don't think they are issuing tickets as of yet.........but will be soon. Also, tickets from red light camera's don't go on your driving record.

 

I think its like a $20 fine, dont worry you'll get it in the mail eventually. Wait I guess you could get lucky, they need a clean shot of yo plates.

most of them dont have active working cameras Ive heard. Only the main 1 and the the 1 for the greenway or w/e.

 

If you get caught by camera for running a red light or w/e the fine is like $50 bucks. I got nailed by one a few years ago at Route 50 in the Falls Church... No points since they can't prove who was driving, so its just a fine to the owner of the car.
