Honda V6... Variable Fuel Managment
i believe its called variable fuel managment... anyway.
honda is going to be using alittle something new to conserve gas milage in v6 models. its going to be released in the acura line first. its going to be a 3.0 Ivtec v6 producing 250 horsepower.
during highway cruising speeds, the motor will cut off 3 of the cylinders, producing about 40 miles per gallon.
40mpg with 250 horsepower v6? not to shabby.
should be released in the acura tl in 2005.

Lowering the power and displacement is a good idea to test new technology. If they would have beasted it then they probably would have more problems than they need. Remember, these people you talk about are engineers payed alot more money to design these.. yes they have made mistakes.. like Honda/Acura all together. I'm pretty sure these new V6's with the new fuel managment will sell easily. Just wait for a bigger displacement and more HP in the next few years, I'm sure Honda/Acura will be producing a nice size beast with plenty of gas mileage. Honda/Acura has always had pretty good gas mileage, why stop now? .02

That giant ass V12 (?) cadillac does that also, cuts off most of the cylinders during normal driving. Sounds like a great idea, as long as it's implemented well..
I still wish Honda would put it's brains to sick use and make a small displacement V8..

I will believe this when I see it. Maybe they'll make another trim or an engine option of some sort, but Acura takes years to move form engine to engine. Maybe... but I doubt this will happen soon and replace an already great motor.
