ROANOKE: Where's the hot spots?
i live in danville, and pretty much, it sucks ass. nothing to do but go down to Greensboro NC or surrounding areas to go clubbing, good bar hopping, etc.
ive been hearing for a while that Roanoke was getting big, but was curious as to actual encounters.
is there really anything going on as far as night life?

Radford has died off quite a bit...still have the Riley's on thur nights and Sharkey's friday and sat. I don't bother with frat parties so I dont know about those. Blacksburg is still nice
Danville sucks!!!!!! I remember the old days when it stayed packed. Two weeks ago on a Friday night at 1000PM was like riding through Milton on the way to VIR.
I just go to places where my friends live out of town. Yeah, I live close by.

The 21 year olds I know up here seem pretty content with the bars. I haven't been to a frat party in a while. Some of my friends got houses this year that are pretty nice for radford, and are off campus enough to only have people you know over. Usually a good time.
"Hot spots" and "Roanoke" should not be used together in my opinion.
I've often defended Roanoke because I think it's a beautiful area but I have been getting more and more disappointed lately with what I'm seeing... I think it's the quality of people that's really taken a plunge, which takes a lot of other things down with it. We still have a lot of beautiful scenery, but I'm not into any of the "hot spots" as you called it in Roanoke. There are several shitty clubs downtown and in the surrounding area, but I don't enjoy them at all. On the other hand, I tend to enjoy more of a relaxed environment like the bar at a smaller restaurant if I'm going out to drink. You could always check out Cattle Annies in Lynchburg. They have good live music and it's a pretty big place.
I'd rather take a road trip on the weekend to somewhere new than do the same old routine at the clubs/bars in Roanoke! That's just me though. There are plenty of club rats here in town that obviously don't see it the same way as I do.
