I've definitely never considered myself to be a great kart driver as I think driving karts and sedans require a much different driving style and a different skill set but these karts are a lot of fun and so is the competition. Not to mention it's a wee bit cheaper than towing the racecars to the track. I didn't drive karts as a kid so alot of this is new to me and i'm constantly learning new ways to get the kart to do what I want it to do. Like mike said earlier if you can get the kart to slow down without using the brake that's what you want to do. I only brake on the supertrack in the back corners and i just brake enough to turn the brake light on. My advice to anyone is to get the kart pointed in the right direction as quickly as possible while trying to maintain your momentum as best you can. The obvious advice is you should e full throttle as much as possible. If your just trying to gain a second try getting on the gas earlier on each turn even if you think you don't have room. Also try using the kart's slip angle to slow it down instead of using the brakes if you can find the happy medium here you will be very very fast.

If you haven't already checked it out. For those of you that are looking for cheep fun check out www.iracing.com this is one addicting simulator and it's the most realistic i've seen yet. This isn't for everyone though this is really going to become a sport in itself. I was reluctant at first to try it because I thought it was pretty gay but after I tried it I was hooked.

lol. it's really not about SK's. i jumped in an SK there at the end end did worse than the first 2 runs. maybe that kart was jacked but,.. i have been in SK's before and posted MY fast times.. when a regular would be in a normal kart and still smoke me.

it's really more about not losing speed keeping momentum and like nagger said, keeping the revs up.

'NOS' for the straights wouldnt help lol.. youd be screwed come time for the sharp turn at the end.

If you didn't already know. The old SK's are mixed in with the regular karts. i.e. 76 and 80. It's a pretty noticeable difference between the other karts. I don't know the numbers for the other ones. The new SK's are only going to be faster on "faster" tracks. They are too big to be fast on the smaller tracks with hairpins.

 

What's the hype about cart #80??? I drove it last weekend and it felt like a slinky handled like shit IMO.

 

Maybe 13 is a former SK and i'm just not used to it and thats why it felt so loose all night last night.

 

The old SK's feel really loose at first compared to the regular karts. There faster though trust me.

 

i tried so many different ways though to get traction in the rear and could never do it.
