Bingo. Don't cheap out and rattle can them shits. If they look bad, go get them stripped and powdercoated back to a near stock finish.
While I completely agree that you shouldn't cheap out on what you do with the wheels....spending roughly the value of the wheels on getting them powdercoated seems like a poor investment IMO. I just don't see the point in investing 2-300 bucks (or more) on getting them powdercoated if you'll only be able to get 3-500 dollars for them when you sell them (just a guess on price, they're cheap on ebay).
If they were not stock wheels, or if they were exactly what you wanted in the long run I'd say go for it. However, since they're messed up already I'd just get someone to sand blast them, prime them, and rattle can them in your garage or something. I think white would be sick personally....but silver may be a better bet if you plan on selling them down the road. Maybe even look into having them sprayed by someone who paints cars, spending 100 bucks on getting them painted seems better then the big bucks to getting them powdercoated (have I beat a dead horse yet?).
