i was always under the impression you want to use the ones that came with your head.
Similar to a block, of only using the main caps from that block..i could be wrong

They are align bored as well. Can't use different ones that did not come with your head from the factory. Why would the one guy think the non vtec heads are different.

Yeah you really should use the original ones. It doesn't make it right but I know people that have done it without any issues. It is an option however and if you want you can plastigauge the cam cap clearances just like main or rod bearing clearances and make sure they are within spec; as long as they are I wouldn't worry about it.

Might want to do a line-hone bore at the machine shop.
That cap might have made a perfect circle on the B20 head, but it might make an oval on your head....just something to think about.
