srsly, your fucking dumb, for instance MJ's Lawn Service is owned by two guys (both members on this board) who did lawn care for side money through High School and early College and now make $50k each a yeah as a business and have been for over 5 yrs. GTFO.

wait heres the catch, both are white guys from Military families. Both going for degrees that prolly would pay less than what they make now.

+1
I graduated college two and a half months ago..and sent out SOOO many resumes since then, and haven't had but two or three hits that all fell through. So right now I'm just working some shit job in Nags Head until I can find something in my career path..or even just something else I'd really enjoy doing.

I agree with you that it is hard to find a job. My g/f is in your same position, with a marketing degree from odu and no luck finding a career anywhere. I have worked landscaping and I am a junior at ODU for engineering, so this may be why my opinion is biased?

I was a foreman doing landscaping for 3 years when I was younger. It's back breaking hard work. And I agree with you that there are people who can make it into a business..

But, those people don't normally come on dragva asking for a job. I was hoping to steer the OP in a better more productive direction.

How am I a moron? Do you do landscaping?

Who disagrees with me that it is smarter to go to school and get a career then to work with your hands?

Dunno if i would disagree. But its not a fixed variable like i think your saying it is.
It really all depends on the person and degree.
I know a guy who graduated from JMU a few years ago with a degree in psychology, and now builds kitchens.
I think society puts way too much emphasis on getting a degree, and completely ignore the part where you actually have to find the career. Its normally not a package deal.

Just my thoughts...

I'm pretty sure you have to have a felony conviction and meth addiction to do lawn care work past the age of 16.
