what's my chances of finding one thats stock (or reasonably modded)? That was the TDi motor right?

stock is mostly what you'll find if you can find one.

heres where im confused....are you saying the 1098 looks like a japanese bike? because i can see the 1098 looking like a yamaha. but the desmosedici looks nothing like a yamaha, i've spent the last 10 minutes looking at an R1 and the desmo and they share nothing similar in the looks department. IMO

im not one to disagree and say the 996 wasnt the best looking ducati built so far IMO.
