Remote from alarm stopped responding
So i went out to my car tried to disable the alarm with the remote which didnt work, tried over and over and even got fresh battery in there. So i ended up opening the door then the hood disc the battery to stop the horn because i couldnt start it with the alarm activated and then unplugged the alarm.
Left the car overnight and just went out plugged it back in and now the remote works.
The alarm is about 5 yrs old or so. I have no problem buying a new remote if need be, but i want to make sure that is the problem.

Re: Remote from alarm stopped responding
Sounds like the alarm brain is the problem, not the remote. It doesn't sound like it's responding to the remote.

Re: Remote from alarm stopped responding
When you put in a new battery, the alarm may have lost the signal code for the keyfob. Your manual should walk through the steps for the alarm to re-learn the code sent from the keyfob.
